PHOTOGRAPH FROM JARROTTS
Kindly donated by JARROTTS 'where great photographs come from' - a lovely one-off vintage Silver Gelatin image taken by Alan R. Smith at the 1957 Goodwood BARC Members' Meeting. On pole is Innes Ireland in a Lotus Climax II alongside Peter Blond in his Cooper Connaught T39 and, nearest the camera, Tommy Sopwith in his Equipe Endeavour Cooper Climax T39. The starter looks like John Morgan, Secretary of the BARC and founder of the wonderful Steering Wheel Club in Mayfair. Measuring 10" x 8", it is printed on fibre-based paper and can never be reproduced again as the image no longer resides in the JARROTTS archive. It would normally sell for £300.
